Best Finger Foods to Serve at Bridal Showers and Parties

Wedding showers are all about bringing gifts for the bride and groom. Keep the party simple by making finger foods that can be eaten while mixing and mingling.

Hosting a bridal shower can be stressful and time consuming. Prepare finger foods in advance and don’t worry about serving elaborate dishes that require flatware. Guests will like being able to walk around and not have to balance a plate on their laps while they chat with the bride.

Spicy Cheese Ball

The cheese ball is a favorite because it is delicious and easy to eat while walking around and having fun with friends.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces of cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped jalapeno peppers
  • 1/2 cup of finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (pecans, almonds or walnuts)

Directions:

  1. Soften the cream cheese.
  2. Mix the cream cheese with the peppers and cheddar cheese and chill.
  3. Form the mixture into a ball.
  4. Roll the ball in the chopped nuts.
  5. Serve with a crackers.

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 package of fresh whole button mushrooms
  • 1 can of white crab meat
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella or pepper jack)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup of seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce

Directions:

  1. Spray baking pan
  2. Rinse mushrooms and cut off stems.
  3. Mix crab meat with bread crumbs, butter, onions, cheese and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Scoop the crab mixture onto the mushrooms
  5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for approximately 12 to 15 minutes.

Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups

Easy to eat with the fingers, ham and cheese roll-ups will disappear quickly.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of thinly sliced ham
  • 8 ounces of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup of cooked, crumbled bacon
  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of finely shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped black olives

Directions:

  1. Soften the cream cheese.
  2. Mix the cream cheese with the crumbled bacon, mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and olives.
  3. Spread the mixture on the slices of ham.
  4. Roll the ham and chill for at least an hour before serving.

Easy Fish Spread

Another delicious spread for crackers will delight guests and have them coming back for more.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flaked, smoked fish
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup of softened cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • 1/4 cup of chopped onion

Directions:

  1. Make sure there are no bones in the smoked fish flakes.
  2. Mix with the mayonnaise, cream cheese, chili powder and onion.
  3. Chill and garnish with parsley.
  4. Serve with crackers.

Delicious Date Bars

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 package bran muffin mix
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)

Directions:

  1. Spray 8 by 8 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. Combine muffin mix, egg, milk and butter in a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Fold in dates and nuts.
  4. Spread the mixture into the baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Cool and cut into squares or bars.

Bridal Shower Appetizer Buffet

After preparing these appetizers, fill in with dishes of nuts, squares of cheese and platters of fresh vegetables with ranch dressing for dipping.
