Celebrate Halloween with these quick and easy yet spooky and fun party food recipe ideas.

Halloween is the perfect holiday to get friends and family together and have a party with plenty of sweets, treats and fall time favorite foods. There are endless simple recipe ideas depending on your budget and time, as well as the kind of party you’re planning to have.

If you’re going for a party with kids and spooky fun as the focal point, get creative and make kid-friendly foods that your younger party-goers will enjoy. Are you considering a party that’s only for the adults? Bring out your more upscale dishes and alcoholic beverages for the serious, adult Halloween party.

You can also mix it up and create something the whole family will enjoy by going for creative foods with a magical, Harry Potter-themed party for kids and adults. Or, consider a party with a monster motif and monster inspired dishes.

Let your food be the magical centerpiece, and the whole party will come together around the table. With a small amount of time and a few resources, a memorable Halloween party is surely within sight.

Witch Broomsticks

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch rice marshmallow treats
  • 1 bag large pretzel sticks
  • 1 can frosting or 1 bar chocolate or almond bark, melted over heat
  1. For the actual broom pieces, open a package of ready-made rice marshmallow treats or mix up a quick batch by hand.
  2. Cut the rice treats into individual broom-shaped pieces, sized like a 2 in. x 1 in. x 2 in. triangle or larger.
  3. For the broom handles, purchase a bag of large pretzel sticks. Take some store-bought or homemade frosting and with the pretzel sticks, dip them in the frosting and attach the sticks on the back-side of the broom-shaped rice treats.
  4. Place them on waxed paper, leaving them flat, with the handle side facing up until the frosting hardens. As an alternative, instead of using frosting, dip the pretzel sticks in warm, melted almond or chocolate bark, immediately attaching them to the broom pieces.

Witch Hats

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 box vanilla or chocolate cookies (must be round and flat)
  • 1 bar chocolate or almond bark, melted over heat
  1. Wash a pint of fresh strawberries and cap the green leaves, and set aside.
  2. Take several round and flat, store-bought vanilla or chocolate-flavored cookies and set aside on waxed paper. These will serve as the base and rim of the hat.
  3. Using a toothpick or fork, dip the strawberries one at a time into melted almond or chocolate bark, shaking off any excess. Place the dipped strawberries one by one in the center of the cookie. Allow to dry on waxed paper.

To add a spookier theme to the Halloween party, you can also try recipes like Creepy Fingers in a Blanket, a Monster Brain Cheese Ball, or Eyeball Brownies.

For drinks, serve hot mulled apple cider to the kids, and for the adults, serve cocktails created with spooky names.
